FITZ WINE OPEN FOR BUSINESS AFTER WILDFIRE

Gordon Fitzpatrick, President of Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards, is pleased to report that the winery is now open after being closed for three days due to the Mount Eneas wildfire.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the firefighters who safeguarded our property. Both the winery and vineyard are remarkably unscathed despite our close proximity to the blaze. It is also remarkable how the community in the Okanagan Valley comes together during such emergencies.

Gordon Fitzpatrick noted, “the outpouring of concern and support has been very touching. A sincere thanks to everyone who was in our corner hoping for the best. In particular we would like to thank Tony Stewart of Quail’s Gate Winery who accommodated the wedding that we needed to relocate. Our appreciation to Jim Cuddy for altering his itinerary so that our Crush Deck Concert could be rescheduled from July 18th to July 31st. We are currently in the process of contacting all those who had tickets for the Jim Cuddy performance the night of the Mount Eneas wildfire to either re-book or refund their tickets. For those wishing to celebrate our good fortune in surviving the fires, tickets can be purchased online at fitzwine.com for Jim Cuddy on July 31st and Chantal Kreviazuk on August 2nd, or perhaps both. These will be magical evenings of music, food and wine, and we look forward to a full house.”

The Wine Shop is now open, seven days a week from 10:00AM6:00PM with the Fitz Bistro open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00AM4:00 PM. We look forward to sharing our stories plus a glass or two with visitors to the Okanagan. Another news release regarding our stellar performance at the National Wine Awards of Canada 2018 will be sent tomorrow. More reasons to celebrate!
