Meritage

A rich Cabernet-based cuvée, our 2013 Meritage * is full-bodied and intense, yet elegant and feminine. A wine with excellent structure and concentrated flavour, this vintage is garnet red in the glass and has gorgeous floral aromas with delicate herbaceous undertones. The ripe, silky tannins are balanced by fresh cherry, dark berry, coffee and licorice flavours. The fruit and oak are particularly well integrated with a smooth, lingering finish. Enjoy as you would any fine, Left Bank Bordeaux style blend.

Syrah

Dark ruby in colour, this classic Syrah expresses earthy aromas with vanilla, leather, mocha and mint accents. Full-bodied with concentrated dark berry fruit flavours, filling the palate are tobacco, vanilla bean, black pepper, clove and ginger spices. A wine with an opulent mouthfeel layered over well-rounded tannins, this vintage is built for aging with good structure and seamless fruit and oak integration. The lengthy finish shows exotic spices and smoky oak. Enjoy this elegant wine as you might any Syrah based northern Rhône red.

Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2015 growing season started early with record heat units being recorded from June through September. While the average Growing Degree Days in Osoyoos were 1,764, at Vanessa they were signi cantly higher at 2,049. In the past ten years, 2015 was the hottest year ever for Similkameen’s Vanessa Vineyard. These conditions resulted in our red grapes being riper with a fuller fruit expression and softer, more rounded tannins.
