DALINA opens new location in heart of Fairview

Resto-cafe DALINA is opening a new location in Bluesky Properties’ new commercial building at 992 West Broadway, just a short distance away from Vancouver General Hospital. The Fairview neighbourhood location will open on February 11, 2019.

The new restaurant, and the original DALINA location in Chinatown, will be featuring grab-and-go meals and snack-packs, with dozens of freshly prepared meals including salads, sandwiches, wraps, and pastries, on offer.  In addition to the artisanal coffee DALINA has become famous for, featured drink additions will include Superfood Smoothies and Hoochy Booch Kombucha on tap.

“Aside from a few grocery stores, there really aren’t many true grab-and-go style eateries in Vancouver,” says DALINA manager Toni Hulsch. “People are busy, they don’t always have time to wait for their meal to be prepared. Even lining up at the order counter can take a while. Our goal is to provide delicious healthy options they can grab on the run, or sit down to enjoy in our space.”

All dishes are being created by DALINA executive chef Simona Bonelli, who brings her blend of healthy, innovative, and authentic fare to this new take-away menu. Aside from the baked goods, drinks, and coffees, most menu items will run between $10 to $15 and will come in compostable packaging. In addition to the in-house menu selection, DALINA is also offering catering services and weekday office delivery.

The new 900 square foot Broadway location, with seating for 35, was designed by Andrea Greenway Interior Design, the same team behind DALINA’s Instagram-worthy Chinatown cafe. The new space features white tile, white oak, concrete, stainless steel, and marble. Round globe lighting fixtures and tall marble standing tables are a nod to European cafes, while the worn leather benches are perfect for those looking to settle in. Large bouquets from Hana by Celsia are featured throughout the space and are also available for purchase.

A selection of grocery staples will be available for purchase at both locations and the Broadway cafe plans to add a liquor license in the spring.

Broadway DALINA will be open Monday to Friday 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and Weekends 7 pm to 5 pm.
