20th Annual “Wine’d Up” Event Supports Whistler Search & Rescue October 26

20th Annual “Wine’d Up” Event Supports
Whistler Search & Rescue

On Saturday, October 26th, 2019, the Whistler Search and Rescue Society (WSAR) will hold its annual “Wine’d Up” fundraising dinner and auction. The evening includes a five-course gourmet delight, paired with select wines from Spain, Italy, France and California. This year marks a very special year, celebrating 20 years for the event, and founding Chef Bernard Casavant will be joined by four of Whistler’s top chefs.

Brad Sills, the President of WSAR, notes that Wine’d Up is the single largest source of revenue for his volunteer-driven agency. WSAR saves numerous lives every year, and the non-profit organization is an invaluable resource to the RCMP, the local community, and the visitors to Whistler who propel the resort’s economy. Since its inception the fundraising dinner has raised funds to enable their volunteers and the society to successfully meet their mandate and the needs of the community and visitors it serves.
International Cellars Inc., the wine agency that founded the event 20 years ago with Chef Bernard will provide a selection of premium wines that will be paired with cuisine from these five renowned Whistler chefs:

  • Steve Bjormark, Executive Events Chef, Whistler Blackcomb/Vail Resorts
  • Segura Viudas Brut Reserva Cava – SPAIN
  • Bernard Casavant, Director of Operations, RauDZ Creative Concepts Ltd.
  • Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio – ITALY
  • Mark McLoughlin, Executive Sous Chef, Araxi Restaurant + Oyster Bar
  • Maison Louis Jadot Bourgogne Chardonnay – FRANCE
  • Dustin Harkness, Executive Chef, Whistler Cooks Catering
  • Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon, USA, CALIFORNIA
  • Anup Chaubal, Executive Pastry Chef, Fairmont Chateau Whistler
  • Tommasi Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso – ITALY

In addition to outstanding food and wine, guests will enjoy live and silent auctions featuring items generously donated by businesses, artists, and individuals from the local community and beyond.

Recommended attire for the evening is smart casual.
The event is generously supported by Whistler Blackcomb Vail Resorts.
