Beaucoup Bakery launches new fall menu inspired by childhood favourites

 

Cookies ‘n cream, churros, and pumpkin are just some of the new, nostalgic flavours making an appearance on Beaucoup Bakery’s (2150 Fir Street) new fall menu. Launching this Friday, October 11, 2019, the treats represent some of brother-sister duo Betty and Jacky Hung’s favourite sweets from their childhood, including: a Cookies ‘n Cream Croissant, Churro Morning Cream Bun, Chocolate and Hazelnut Rice Pudding Choux, Pumpkin Lamington, Cookie Butter Latte, and a Savoury Mushrooms and Mash Tarte.

“Betty and I really wanted to celebrate some of our favourite childhood flavours for the fall season,” says Jacky Hung, co-owner of Beaucoup Bakery. “There is nothing quite like biting into a pastry and tasting flavours you’ve known forever. I love cookies, which is why we just had to create a cookie butter latte that’s also great for kids. Of course, it can be spiked with coffee!”

The Cookies ‘n Cream Croissant ($5.75) is Beaucoup Bakery’s new seasonal double-baked croissant, featuring Valrhona Dulcey pastry cream, almond frangipane, dark chocolate wafer, and a light glaze.

The Pumpkin Lamington Cake ($3.25) is Betty’s take on the Australian dessert, which she enjoyed as a child. It is made with a cream cheese filling sandwiched between layers of lightly spiced pumpkin sponge cake, pumpkin white chocolate ganache coating with coconut, and crushed pumpkin seeds.

Start the day with the Churro Morning Cream Bun ($5.90), featuring goats’ milk caramel (Mexican cajeta), vanilla pastry cream filled layered bun, milk crumbs, and cinnamon sugar.

The Chocolate and Hazelnut Rice Pudding Choux ($5.50) is a vanilla rice pudding with hazelnut praline, and Valrhona Guanaja dark chocolate whipped ganache filled in a chocolate cookie choux pastry.

For those looking for a quick snack or lunch, the Mushrooms and Mash Savoury Tarte ($6.25) features pommes puree, roasted mushrooms with herbs, garlic scape salt, gremolata bread crumbs, and fresh goat’s cheese on our layered pastry.

The Cookie Butter Latte is warmth in a mug with a cookie butter base of cookie butter and extract, vanilla, and cinnamon. Milk or alternative milks such as almond, soy, oat, and Nuez Nutmilk are available.
