From seasonal traditions like tortellini in brodo, typical of the Emilia-Romagna region, to twists on classics like grilled panettone with zabaglione, over the past four years, holiday feasting at Savio Volpe, named “Best Italian Restaurant” at the 2019 Vancouver Magazine Awards, has itself become a festive tradition.\
 

While there can often be found a couple of seats at the bar or an early evening walk-in table in late November and December, the holidays historically book up early so plan your gathering sooner than later! As they say, “the more the merrier” and Savio Volpe’s epic tasting menu invites your group to give yourselves over to the chef to be spoiled with generous platters of fresh, hand made pasta; mouthwatering wood-fire grilled bistecca and taleggio-topped chops; and winter’s harvest of rainbow carrots, winter lettuces, chard and chicories, prepared in the osteria’s signature rustic Italian style and served alla famiglia. Wine aficionados will delight in the restaurant’s Gold medal-winning wine list (2019 Vancouver International Wine Festival), inventively curated by Wine Director Shiva Reddy; and those with a sweet tooth will be treated to house made gelato in classic Christmas flavours like buttered rum, white chocolate & candy cane, gingerbread and hazelnut praline; and dairy-free sorbetto in meyer lemon, dark chocolate and apple cider.
