‘Street Food City’ Returns… More Days! More Choice!
Dine Out Vancouver’s hugely popular food-truck festival returns for its ninth delicious edition.
The crowds have continued to grow — so the event has, too!
Street Food City, Dine Out Vancouver’s annual “food truck pod” showcasing the Lower Mainland’s best mobile eateries, returns for its ninth year, boasting more days and more food trucks than ever before.
Street Food City takes over the renovated north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery (renamed šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énk Square, ) from January 17 to 19, and from January 31 to February 6.
The 2020 edition of Street Food City offers 25 food trucks in all, from tacos and wood-fired pizza to healthful vegan fare, house-made desserts, and much more. The trucks on the plaza will rotate throughout the event, so you’ll want to check back daily to see what’s new.
Plentiful onsite tables mean you can feast with co-workers and friends while your meal is still fresh and hot as can be. Tents provided by sponsor EVO Car Share will ensure potential rain doesn’t dampen the fun. Eat to the beat courtesy of JackFM and live music acts throughout the festival. Representatives from Lyft will also be on hand January 18 to share details about their much-anticipated ride-hailing service.
Tourism Vancouver, StreetFood Vancouver Society and the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) present this informal branch of Dine Out Vancouver. Partial proceeds from the event will help support the BC Hospitality Foundation, which supports those in the province’s hospitality industry facing financial crisis due to health issues.
“Street Food City has continued to grow in response to the public’s incredible enthusiasm,” says Lucas Pavan, Dine Out Vancouver Festival Coordinator, Tourism Vancouver. “In our ninth year, we’re able to offer more choice — and more days to enjoy — than ever before. It’s a reflection of Dine Out Vancouver’s overall success, which also continues to grow year over year. More than 300 restaurants will be participating in 2020, offering specially priced menus for lunch, dinner and — following last year’s very well-received launch — brunch.”
