The groundhog emerged yesterday and did not see his shadow, predicting an early spring again this year. We could not think of a better way to celebrate this fact with the release of these new vintages of Chardonnay and Merlot. These wines are a celebration of our South Okanagan terroir and a beautiful example of our commitment to excellence in every step of the process. 2017 CAPTURE CHARDONNAY
Border Vista Vineyard, Osoyoos Lake Bench

Our 2017 Capture Chardonnay continues the tradition of exciting and vibrant wines from our Border Vista Vineyard along the 49th parallel. The natural ferment contributes lifted aromatics and complex notes of peach, green tea and spice with a hint of gunflint. The palate has a fresh entry of apple blossom and mandarin followed by silky stone fruits with a long sea salt finish.

2017 QUEEN TAKEN CHARDONNAY
Dekleva Vineyard, Golden Mile Bench DVA

Located along Golden Mile Bench you’ll find the Dekleva Vineyard, home to the 45 year old vines from which we crafted the Queen Taken Chardonnay. The wine has essences of sandalwood and sub-tropical fruits, combined with delicate floral notes of rosewater. The palate showcases peach, marmalade, lychee with a rich texture that becomes delicate with exposure to air.

2017 QUEEN’S ADVANTAGE CHARDONNAY
Combret Vineyard, Golden Mile Bench DVA

Deep, rocky soils and old, gnarly vines (planted in the early 1970’s) combine to create a wine with rosehip, lifted peach and wet stone aromas. The palate is seamless with mandarin flavours coming to the fore, along with barrel spice and signature wet stone notes.

2016 OPENING GAMBIT MERLOT
Osoyoos Lake Bench, Osoyoos

I am also thrilled to introduce two Merlots from the 2016 vintage, Opening Gambit and Black Rook. The 2016 Opening Gambit Merlot possesses an elegant nose of plum and black fruits with creamy undertones and mocha notes. The palate is charming with a rich entry of blackberry and black cherry fruits giving way to chocolate notes and polished tannins.

2016 BLACK ROOK MERLOT
Black Sage Bench, Oliver

The Black Rook Merlot is a unique wine from the foothills of the Okanagan Highland on Black Sage Bench with a lifted nose of roses, anisse, bramble fruit and coffee beans. The palate is lively yet opulet with dark fruits, cocoa, licorice and structured tannins coating the mouth.

Enjoy a table for two, an incredible view, and a guided tasting sure to surprise and delight. This romantic tasting experience includes a tasting of two Chardonnays and two Merlots perfectly paired with a selection of small bites.
