Did you know?

Americans send over 145 million Valentine’s Day cards each year, but this special day of love is celebrated differently around the world!

In Latin America, this holiday is known as “El Día de los Enamorados” (day of lovers) or “Día del amor y la amistad” (day of love and friendship). While couples do

exchange ﬂowers, chocolate and other gifts, the focus of this day is directed at showing gratitude to friends!

In Japan, just the women give confections to the men in their lives. The quality of the chocolate indicates their true feelings. Exactly one month later, on March 14th, the men have the chance to repay the favour during the increasingly popular “White Day”.
