Celebrate Food Day Canada
Calling all chefs and restaurants and lovers of local Canadian food to take the pledge and shine the light on Canadian Cuisine by celebrating Food Day Canada on July 31, 2021.
Food Day Canada is a chance for all Canadians to join hands in one massive celebration in praise of our farmer and fishers, our chefs and researchers and of course, our home cooks!
Anywhere and everywhere. Backyard barbecues, picnics, potlucks, patios, your kitchen table, your favourite restaurant. Online or in person.
Anyone who loves Canadian ingredients. Chefs, home cooks, farmers, ranchers, fishers, writers, winemakers, brewers, food processors, researchers…and the list goes on.
Enjoy and promote Canadian grown, Canadian made food and drinks. People will come together in person or online and share their pictures and stories using #FoodDayCanada
This year’s theme is based on GRATITUDE . Let’s show our thanks to everyone in the food system. The best content includes pictures or video of people and Canadian ingredients, where they are grown, caught or prepared, right through to the finished product on your plates and in your glasses!
Please consider diversity with people, culture, geography and ingredients when choosing your content.
The spirit of pride will shine as iconic structures and natural wonders like Niagara Falls are being lit red and white in honour of our Canadian cuisine from coast to coast. Canadians will shine their lights at 9:00 p.m. too! This is a volunteer movement. The more partners and channels that participate, the larger the reach and the impact.
If you are a chef or restauranteur, we strongly suggest you take the Food Day Canada Pledge on the Food Day Canada website so the team knows you are participating and can share your posts. Create a Canadian menu or special feature and celebrate with us all on social media. Incredible way to support your business and connect our culinary community.
