Festivals + Events
Cultural Celebrations, Crankworx, Wine Festival and Oktoberfest
The sun is shining and it’s already warming up in the alpine, which is why we’re thrilled to share what’s ahead for the summer season at Silver Star. Okanagan mountain summers are packed full of exhilarating and rejuvenating experiences, and a Silver Star summer is a level up. This year-round destination is a beautiful and welcoming place to hike, bike, eat, drink, stay and play in spring, summer and fall. Only a 20-minute drive from Vernon, Silver Star may very well be the Okanagan’s best kept mountain secret.
Silver Star Summer Lineup:
June 25 – Opening Weekend – Summer is on! Local and visiting mountain bikers are stoked for the opening of Canada’s second largest bike park, but Silver Star is so much more than sweet trails and the best flow park anywhere. From summer sliding to gondola rides and a gnome roam, there’s lots to see and do for the entire family.
To kick off the season, Destination Silver Star is hosting an inaugural community cultural celebration in the village. Happenings throughout the village include an artisan market featuring up to 20 local vendors, culinary offerings, and the Slay the Dragon trail race. The event is free to attend and starts at 10am. A territorial Indigenous welcome starts the day off on the main stage, followed by cultural performances and a Ukrainian fundraiser, before headliner daysormay takes the stage at 3pm.
daysormay, a North Okanagan band on the rise, features singer Aidan Andrews and twin brothers/rhythm section Carson and Nolan Bassett. The trio is carving out a unique space in modern alternative music, elevating their craft by incorporating pulsing drums, synths and guitars, meaningful melodies and sharp-witted lyrics. Growing up in Vernon, BC, daysormay brings relentless energy of a band on the verge to every new live show. Catch them live at Silver Star on June 25th.
July 28 to 31 – Crankworx Summer Series – The Crankworx Summer Series features bike races staged in epic destinations. As well as a variety of thrilling two-wheeled events, the weekend includes music, art, culture and great food. Think big air, fast berms, and world-class riding. Event competitions offer local and up-and-coming racers a chance to go wheel-to-wheel with national and international heroes, providing a path to future Crankworx World Tour greatness. Over $30,000 in prizes will be up for grabs.
August 11 to 14 – Wine Festival – Uncork together at our reimagined wine festival, featuring Savour the Sun wine dinners, wine tasting in the Village, special features and live music. The weekend will bring some of the Okanagan’s most celebrated winemakers up to the popular mountain destination. Savour rare finds and terroir-expressive wines, paired with delicious food from the culinary teams at Silver Star Mountain Resort.
August 11 – Enjoy special Okanagan wine features at several of Silver Star’s restaurants.
August 12 – Savour the Sun Wine Dinners –
A long table dinner is set to take over the village produced by The Den restaurant. Hosted by Silver Star Executive Chef Scott Sanderson, guests will enjoy a multi-course feast, showcasing local fare from the region and passionate producers who call the valley home. Each course will be paired with wines from Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. Tickets are $145 + tax and gratuity (added at checkout) and can be bought here..
At Black Pine Social, Chef Jarred Sauve will bring an elevated and contemporary dining experience to guests, with a five-course menu that draws inspiration from rustic European alpine culture, complemented by Oliver Osoyoos wines paired by sommelier Melanie Loughery.

August 13 – Uncork Your Senses Wine Tasting in the Village
Taste wines from Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country and other Okanagan Valley wine regions, while strolling through the beautiful Silver Star Village, during this engaging, progressive wine tasting event. Some of BC’s most sought-after, artisanal and award-winning wineries will be set up through the village, along with local food stalls offering sample bites and treats for guests to enjoy throughout the afternoon. Tickets are $95 and can be purchased here.
Silver Star Mountain Resort welcomes all guests to an open concert with Canadian Singer-Songwriter Andrew Allen. Wine seminars are planned for both Saturday and Sunday.

September 10 – Craft Beer & Cider Festival – Celebrate Oktoberfest early this year with Silver Star’s Craft Beer & Cider Festival. Silver Star is partnering with the fine folks behind the long running fan favourite Squamish Beer Fest to bring a celebration of the finest craft beer tastings and extensive local cidery options to the mountain Village. There will be a variety of food features, live music, games, and lots of fun. Grab a group of friends, take a few laps in the epic bike park, and enjoy tasty brews. Stay tuned! This gentle, self-guided tour is likely to net sightings of the reclusive Silver Star gnomes.
Culinary Deights at Silver Star
Silver Star is a social hub fuelled by 18 charming cafes, restaurants, and pubs owned by long-time locals and featuring Okanagan flavours, ingredients and history. Hot spots include Black Pine Social with its supper club vibe; fan favourite The Den for its hearty menu and friendly atmosphere; and Bulldog™ Cafe which serves up Canadian, Dutch and Thai-Indonesian cuisine as an extension of renowned Dutch establishment The Bulldog™ Amsterdam (worth a google).
