THE REIMAGINATION OF TIME: GLENFIDDICH, CANADA’S FAVOURITE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY UNVEILS THE RARE AND REMARKABLE TIME SERIES COLLECTION

Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt scotch whisky, introduces Time Re:Imagined, the ultimate expression of rare 30- and 40-year-old whiskies

Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt scotch whisky, announces the coveted release of Time Re:Imagined, bringing the ultimate expression of time with the release of two extraordinarily rare, aged single malt scotch whiskies.

The Time Series collection consists of two exquisite aged single malts, matured over decades of 30 and 40 years, each capturing a moment in time through a rich concept, curated experience, and aspirational vessel. These remarkably rare Glenfiddich whiskies have been carefully aged, developing a richness and depth of flavour rarely encountered and impossible to replicate.

The coveted Time Series collection begins with the 30-Year-Old, embodying the concept of “Suspended Time,” a nod to the moment when Glenfiddich’s Malt Master suspends the development of the whisky with the definitive decision to bottle. The 40-Year-Old represents “Cumulative Time,” and pays homage to the layers of accumulated flavour created from its unique remnant vatting process. Both expressions are shaped by the steady passing of time and are the pinnacle of Glenfiddich’s signature distillery style.

“In whisky production, we often talk about the role of Malt Masters, and it is our responsibility to find the delicate balance between the taste of the whisky and the intensity of the oak cask,” comments Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich Malt Master. “Both nature and time play huge roles in making whisky taste like it does and Glenfiddich’s Time Re:Imagined pays homage to this process and the exquisite liquid it helps to create.”

The first expression, the 30-Year-Old encompasses the moment when Kinsman suspends the movement of the whisky with his decision to bottle it, capturing the liquid at a precise moment in time as the most perfect expression of an aged Glenfiddich. It showcases the purest expression of the distiller’s character. Time is suspended and caught after a patient three decades of maturation. Glenfiddich 30 encapsulates three decades of the Glenfiddich maverick spirit suspended in time.

The outer packaging design of this expression evokes this movement through moving ribbons, each one frozen in time to form elegant windows to reveal the regal Glenfiddich decanter inside. With the moment of maturation captured, the dynamic lines and complex structure create the illusion that the bottle is suspended effortlessly in mid-air.

Rich bronze in colour, the Glenfiddich 30 is an exquisitely structured balance of hearty oak married with sweet, subtle sherry notes, deep, woody flavours interlaced with delicate floral accents with a warm, honeyed and exceptionally long-lasting finish.

The second offering, the Glenfiddich 40-Year-Old, is a bold, maverick whisky representative of “Cumulative Time,” as it draws attention to the distinct layers of accumulated flavour within the liquid. It celebrates evolution with one thing building upon another. The superlative whisky is produced using remnant vatting, a pioneering process where the remnants of the previous batch are carried over each time and married with the casks selected for each subsequent release. Glenfiddich is the only distillery that uses such process, imparting layers of evolving flavours over the passing years and adding complexity to the taste.

Similar to the layers of flavour composed in the 40-Year-Old, the outer packaging design brings this transformative process of cumulative time to life, bringing a bold and maverick take on geological metamorphosis. Housing the decanter is a striking sculptural packaging created from jesmonite, a material with individual characteristics rendering every piece absolutely unique.

Dark mahogany in colour, the Glenfiddich 40 is a deeply layered expression of dried fruits, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and ripe black cherries, completed with subtle waves of gentle wood smoke, polished leather, and cloves.

The Reimagination of Time Series is an invitation from the maverick Glenfiddich to reimagine time through a rich concept, curated experience, and truly aspirational bottle.

The Glenfiddich 30-Year-old and 40-Year-Old will be available in Ontario for a limited-time only through LCBO Vintages.
