Black Lagoon Pop-Up Announces Spine-Chilling Return to Vancouver

Acclaimed “Adult Halloween Celebration of Your Nightmares”
from spirits-industry vets Erin Hayes and Kelsey Ramage
returns to Butcher & Bullock from October 4th-31st

Get ready to embark on a spooky journey this Halloween season as Black Lagoon, the award-winning Halloween pop-up experience from industry vets Kelsey Ramage and Erin Hayes, brings its hauntingly delicious cocktail lineup and ghoulishly good time to a range of bars around the world, including Vancouver’s Butcher & Bullock.

Hayes and Ramage created the Black Lagoon concept following a successful Tales of Cocktail pop-up at New Orleans’ infamous The Dungeon. Its official October 2021 debut in Toronto, it found an instant following of cocktail and Halloween enthusiasts and, in the two years since, it has become a deliciously ghoulish Halloween celebration throughout the U.S. and Canada, and now worldwide.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be expanding our Black Lagoon footprint this year and heading overseas,” says Hayes. “Each city and venue is carefully selected–from the cocktail culture of the city to the vibes of the venue and staff at the bars–to ensure that our guests can feel fully immersed and transported to new and dark dimensions, while also feeling right at home.”

BC born and raised Kelsey Ramage added, “Butcher & Bullock seemed the perfect place for Black Lagoon. Its dark, moody interior and antique hearse right inside brings all the pieces together for the perfect Halloween vibe. This year, the décor promises to be even more spooky . . . we’ve even invited the building’s long-rumoured ghosts to join the celebrations!”

Guests will be immersed in twisted, spooky environments, decorated with skulls, coffins and other elements that pay homage to goth, horror and all things Halloween while enjoying a menu of six bespoke eerie elixirs. The macabre Book of Blood is a take on a margarita, the creepy Lot 40 Rye Whiskey-based Night Crawler is served in a festive and celebratory coupe.

Hayes and Ramage describe Black Lagoon as a safe space for anyone who may feel like a misfit and encourage guests to dress up, have fun, and not be afraid to channel their inner goth-kid.
