Introducing Richmond’s New Dining & Social Sanctuary: House of Dawn

House of Dawn: New Restaurant Rises to Illuminate Richmond’s Vibrant Dining Scene
Pioneering concept brings innovative Asian fusion cuisine in an upscale-casual setting

Richmond is set to welcome a fresh dining concept with the arrival of House of Dawn. Nestled in a vibrant corner of the city, House of Dawn’s menu playfully blends Asian flavours with international influences in an upscale-casual setting, positioning itself as a pioneering force in Richmond’s dining scene and offering a distinctive alternative to established chains and traditional restaurants.

Located at 130-8171 Ackroyd Road, House of Dawn is near several key Richmond retail, professional, and recreation destinations, including Richmond Centre, Lansdowne malls, and the Richmond Oval. The restaurant is conveniently situated a short walk from either the Lansdowne or the Richmond-Brighouse Canada Line SkyTrain stations, making it an ideal choice for locals and visitors looking to experience something approachable yet trailblazing in Richmond.

Aiming to be more than just a restaurant, House of Dawn is slated to become a hub where Asian culinary culture meets social interaction. The mission of House of Dawn is to bring global flavours to the palates of guests, while providing a fusion of Asian-inspired cuisine and promising a unique and memorable dining experience. Invigorated by the ever-evolving culinary landscape, House of Dawn prides itself on sourcing local, fresh ingredients to deliver the best flavours in every dish. The menu reflects diverse Asian culinary traditions, seamlessly blending tastes and styles to offer something new and exciting.

“We are incredibly excited to bring House of Dawn to Richmond,” said Danny Deng, Partner and Chef of House of Dawn. “Our goal is to offer a dining adventure that goes beyond the ordinary, combining delicious food with a welcoming atmosphere. We want every visit to House of Dawn to be an unforgettable experience.”

Born and raised in Changsha, China and trained by culinary professionals, Chef Deng has worked tirelessly in the Canadian restaurant industry across multiple concepts and provinces. He has called Metro Vancouver home for some time, working in some of the city’s top kitchens, under the guidance of mentor and Top Chef Canada alum Chef Xin Mao at M8 Bistro and Bar. In 2019, Deng launched Neue Catering, where he emphasizes seasonal and local ingredients to craft global cuisine (with a focus on Asian flavours) showcasing both quality and innovation. Building on Neue’s success, Deng is extending his reach with the addition of House of Dawn to the Lower Mainland’s exciting restaurant scene.

There are five unique dining areas at House of Dawn, each meticulously designed to bring the perfect backdrop for both small and large dining groups, offering a polished and inviting atmosphere. “We want our guests to have a new experience every time they visit House of Dawn, and the different textures and tones, and art decors are elements used to create this cohesive yet dynamic space,” said Danny. Paying homage to old Shanghai’s “golden era”, the 200-seat restaurant will feature a lavish and spacious cocktail lounge area, a first in Richmond, transporting guests from the hustle and bustle of city life to a social sanctuary.

What sets House of Dawn apart is its ability to offer a stylish dining experience without the upscale price tag. By striking a balance between sophistication and affordability, The versatile space offers a refined atmosphere where guests can gather, socialize, indulge, and unwind without overspending. This unique approach makes it a perfect destination for a wide range of diners, from families and friends to professionals and food enthusiasts.

The restaurant is slated to open this fall. For the latest information on House of Dawn, sign up for the restaurant’s newsletter at houseofdawn.ca, and follow House of Dawn on Instagram: @houseofdawnrestaurant and Facebook: /@houseofdawnrestaurant.
