SUYO x Pluvio kick off 2026 “con Amigos” Chef Dinner Series

Good Friends, Great Flavours: SUYO con Amigos Returns for
Third Year of Culinary Collaboration

Vancouver’s award-winning modern Peruvian restaurant
welcomes top BC chefs for four exclusive,
one-night-only dinners

The table is set for another season of collaboration as SUYO Modern Peruvian brings back its popular “SUYO con Amigos” dinner series for a third consecutive year. The quartet of exclusive, one-night-only dinners begins on Tuesday, April 7, as Chef Ricardo Valverde and the SUYO team welcome Chef Warren Barr of Pluvio restaurant + rooms in Ucluelet for an unforgettable evening of inspired West Coast-meets modern Peruvian dining, drinks, and hospitality.

Launched in 2024 as a friendly way to bring together some of the city and province’s top chefs, and raise the stakes on culinary innovation and community, this year’s lineup of “amigos” sharing the SUYO kitchen features chefs who, along with Valverde, continue to redefine contemporary Canadian dining.

“SUYO con Amigos was born from a simple need: to connect with new culinary friends and reconnect with old ones,” says Valverde. “By celebrating each chef’s talents, these one-night-only dinners give guests the chance to taste new bold dishes from both restaurants while pulling us out of our daily routines. It’s a night designed to spark creativity, surprise diners, and — above all — have fun!”

For the first dinner in the series, SUYO x PLUVIO on April 7, guests will have a rare chance to experience one of Vancouver Island’s most highly regarded restaurants right here in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. Chef Barr will bring his passion for regional ingredients and inspired culinary craftsmanship that helped establish Ucluelet’s Pluvio as one of Canada’s most charming dining destinations. The menu will reflect a harmonious merge of Barr’s West Coast cuisine with the contemporary Peruvian fare that has earned SUYO multiple accolades and a solid reputation as one of Vancouver’s top spots.

The series continues later in spring as SUYO welcomes Chef Billy Nguyen from Victoria’s standout wine bar and restaurant Rabbit Rabbit on June 18. Come fall, the door opens to some visitors from closer to home: Chef Bobby Milheron of East Van’s Italian hotspot Folietta teams up with Valverde on September 10, and the SUYO con Amigos series concludes on November 2 with Chef Pete Ho of the MICHELIN-starred Sumibiyaki Arashi.
