On Tuesday, Science World will begin returning the iconic geodesic dome to its original state, wrapping up a memorable summer and clearing the final remnants of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
The Beautiful Dome deinstallation begins Tuesday, September 8, with an anticipated removal timeline of 2-3 weeks. Crews will carefully remove each of the 131 panels that transformed the dome into a 360-degree, 40-metre-diameter re-creation of the adidas Trionda, the official match ball of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
The Beautiful Dome‘s impact extended far beyond Vancouver. Over the summer, it was featured by more than 100 media outlets worldwide, showcasing Vancouver to global audiences.
