Kismet Estate Winery Pairs Diwali Celebrations and Holiday Events
with New Vineyard Stay Packages

The Dhaliwal family’s Oliver estate brings together cultural celebrations,
regional Indian dining and seasonal experiences at Manzil Restaurant and Roop Nivas

Kismet Estate Winery is bringing together its annual Diwali celebrations, holiday events and new overnight packages at its Oliver estate this fall and winter. With the recent opening of Roop Nivas accommodations, visitors can now pair the Dhaliwal family’s estate-grown wines and regional Indian cuisine at Manzil Restaurant with an overnight stay among the vineyards, creating new ways to experience the family-owned property throughout the season.

The celebrations begin November 7th with Kismet’s annual Diwali Party, returning to a larger format in The Hangar after two years of intimate long-table dinners. The evening will feature an Indian buffet, live DJ, dancing, henna, turban tying and fireworks. The Festival of Lights has particular significance for the Dhaliwal family, whose Punjabi heritage is reflected throughout Kismet, from the names of its wines to the food served at Manzil. Tickets are $60 per adult, with a $299 Diwali Party & Stay package offering overnight accommodations at Roop Nivas and two event tickets, use the code Diwali26.

Manzil will continue the celebration throughout November with a four-course Diwali tasting menu exploring regional Indian cooking. The limited-time menu moves from Kat Vada, a Kolhapuri potato curry, to Patrani Machi, fish steamed in banana leaf with coconut and herbs, followed by Kali Mirch Chicken and a pistachio chocolate dessert. The dishes offer a glimpse into the range of India’s culinary traditions, complemented by wines produced just steps from the restaurant.

Roop Nivas, which opened earlier this fall, adds another dimension to the estate’s hospitality offering. Named in honour of the family’s late grandfather, Jagroop, the accommodations include ten private guest suites and an 11-bedroom Estate House set among the vineyards. From November through January, Kismet’s Winter Dine & Stay package offers $100 off accommodations when guests spend $75 or more at Manzil during their visit.

“Food, wine and family have always been connected for us,” says Neelam Dhaliwal, general manager of Kismet Estate Winery. “Whether people are joining us for Diwali, gathering with friends over dinner or spending a weekend in Oliver, we want them to feel at home here. With Roop Nivas now open, we can welcome guests for more than just an afternoon or evening and share more of what makes this place special to our family.”

The holiday season also brings new opportunities for group gatherings at Manzil, with family-style menus for parties of 15 or more starting at $40 per person. Larger celebrations can be hosted in The Hangar, with an additional $100 accommodation discount available to groups booking a holiday party at Manzil.

Beyond the dining table, Kismet’s events calendar includes a November Sip & Paint workshop with Rustic Chalk Decor and the return of its Wine Country Christmas Market on November 28th. Running from 12pm to 8pm in The Hangar, the complimentary market will feature local artisans, festive food and wine, music, photos with Santa and a Christmas light-up. On November 30th, Manzil will host a Christmas Cookie Decorating Class at 5:30pm, with participants creating their own festive designs using colourful icing and decorations.

December’s programming includes Tease the Season, a burlesque performance by Noir Dance on December 4th, followed by Manzil’s Après Ski Party on December 5th, featuring music, seasonal cocktails and outdoor firepits. A Christmas ornament-painting workshop with Rustic Chalk Decor on December 14th rounds out the holiday calendar.

The Dhaliwal family’s story has also attracted attention beyond the South Okanagan this year. Head Winemaker Manpreet Dhaliwal was named to BCBusiness’s 2026 30 Under 30 list, while Kismet Estate Winery and Manzil Restaurant recently welcomed the MUNCHIES production team for filming. The episode is anticipated for release in mid-November, bringing the family’s approach to wine, food and Indian hospitality to a wider audience.

Kismet has also launched a new website, bringing its wines, tasting experiences, restaurant, accommodations and upcoming events together in one place. The updated platform allows visitors to explore the estate’s offerings, make reservations and plan their stay.

Anchored in Indian hospitality and designed for B.C.’s wine country, Manzil is led by a South Asian female-driven team, including General Manager Neelam Dhaliwal and Winemaker Manpreet Dhaliwal. The restaurant features regional Indian dishes that are rare in North America, made with local ingredients and layered, vibrant flavours. Shared plates, wine pairings, and craft cocktails make Manzil a natural extension of the Kismet experience.
