The official release of the Haywire Lunar Red celebrates the upcoming Year of the Horse. This wine is a continuation of a tradition that began with the winery’s first Lunar New Year wine in 2014.
WINE NOTES:
Lunar Red was created to harmonize beautifully with the rich flavours and traditions of Asian cuisine.
Made from a Merlot dominant blend and naturally fermented before gentle basket pressing, this elegant wine offers aromas of dark plum, cassis, and subtle cigar box spice.
The palate is smooth and expressive, with layers of black cherry, cocoa, vanilla, and warm baking spice, supported by firm tannins and a long, refined finish.
This Lunar Red is a perfect pairing alongside fried dumplings, honey-glazed spare ribs, or Peking duck. Or, simply enjoy it on its own as you welcome good fortune, good food, and good company.
