North Vancouver Distillery’s Latest Innovative Gin Earned Gold at
The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters 2025 Competition in London, UK

Smoky spirit lovers and Gin aficionados, take heart: Copperpenny Distilling Co.’s hotly anticipated and award-winning Ember Smoked Gin is now available at the distillery’s bottle shop and cocktail lounge located in North Vancouver’s Lower Lonsdale Shipyards District at 103-288 Esplanade E Avenue as well as a number of select private liquor stores across BC.

Distilled grain-to-glass in British Columbia from select local distillers’ wheat, pure coastal mountain water, and a blend of juniper foraged from the rugged grasslands of the province’s central interior, Ember Smoked Gin is layered with the quiet, resinous smoke of local aromatic pine. What emerges is more than a smoked gin. It is a landscape rendered in spirit – forest and char, earth and water, water and life. A gin shaped by elemental contrast, and by a distinctly British Columbian sense of place.

Last fall, the Ember Smoked Gin earned Copperpenny one of a trio of gold medals at The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters 2025 competition, including two more for its Lost Horizon Rare Tea Gin. The awards, viewed as one of the world’s most highly regarded series of blind-tasting spirits competitions, were handed out by a panel of independent judges in London, UK – the global centre of gin culture.

Ember Smoked Gin is available directly from Copperpenny in 375mL and 750mL formats for $39 and $68 respectively plus applicable taxes as well as at select private liquor stores throughout BC that champion premium locally-produced spirits such as Legacy Liquor Store in Vancouver, and is also available for online delivery through the Copperpenny website.

The North Vancouver distillery is no stranger to accolades. Last year, Copperpenny’s Lost Horizon also claimed the gold medal in the Contemporary Gin category at the Artisan Distillers Canada 2025 Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition, and its No. 005 Social Gin was crowned with Gold in the Contemporary Style category at the 2025 World Gin Awards, and was chosen to be the Best Canadian Contemporary Gin of 2025.
