ROSEMEAD HOUSE NAMED THE ONLY CANADIAN HOTEL
ON CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER’S 2026 HOT LIST
Recognition follows Travel + Leisure’s 100 Best New Hotels, marking a defining moment for Vancouver Island’s design-led boutique property
Rosemead House has been named the only Canadian hotel to earn a place in the 2026 Hot List by Condé Nast Traveler, one of the travel industry’s most influential annual recognitions celebrating the world’s best new and noteworthy hotels.
Curated by editors across Condé Nast Traveler’s global editions, the Hot List is known for identifying properties that are shaping the future of travel. This year’s list spans a tightly edited selection of standout openings across the U.S. and internationally, placing Rosemead House alongside a calibre of hotels recognized for design leadership, originality, and a strong sense of place.
The honour arrives just days after Rosemead House was named to Travel + Leisure’s 100 Best New Hotels of the Year, marking a rare moment of dual recognition from two of the industry’s most authoritative global titles.
For a 28-room independent hotel on Vancouver Island, the dual accolades signal more than early success. They mark a rapid and meaningful emergence onto the international stage, positioning Rosemead House as one of Canada’s most closely watched hospitality openings.

“Being recognized by Condé Nast Traveler, so soon after Travel + Leisure, is incredibly significant for us,”says Lenny Moy, owner of Rosemead House. “From the outset, the goal was to move away from a typical hotel aesthetic and create something that feels storied and distinctive. To see that vision resonate globally this quickly speaks to the individuality of the property and the team behind it.”
Selected annually by a global network of editors, the Condé Nast Traveler Hot List is known for identifying properties shaping the future of travel and spotlighting hotels that deliver originality, design distinction, and a strong sense of place.
Set within a restored 1906 manor in Victoria, British Columbia, Rosemead House offers a layered, maximalist approach to design, shaped by sourcing antiques and objects from more than 200 estate auctions across the United Kingdom. The result is a property that lends itself to discovery with no two guest rooms alike. That point of view carries through not only in the design but in how each guest’s experience is delivered.

“Our focus has always been on delivering service that feels intuitive, thoughtful, and deeply personal to each guest,” says Uwe Walter, General Manager. “It’s a testament to the team and the standard they uphold day in and day out.”
Together, the Condé Nast Traveler Hot List and Travel + Leisure honours establish a strong foundation for the property’s next chapter as Rosemead House continues to expand its offerings, including the forthcoming second phase of Salt & Ivy Spa.
