Ladurée unveils new fall-inspired line of pastries and cakes

The warm and cozy flavours of fall have made its way to Ladurée’s tea salon at 1141 Robson Street with the launch of several new desserts: the Ladurée Pumpkin Tart by executive pastry chef Mickael De Monte; a Praline Hazelnut Gateau; Gourmet Macaron Pear Caramel; and Gourmet Macaron Mont Blanc(chestnut).

“Autumn is one of my favourite seasons in Paris,” says Olesya Krakhmalyova of Ladurée Canada. “The beautiful fall foliage, coupled with rich, fall flavours in the air is truly inspiring. And of course, we wanted this to translate into our new desserts. There is nothing quite like a good pumpkin tart or mont blanc treat during harvest season, especially for Thanksgiving.”

De Monte exclusively created the Ladurée Pumpkin Tart($11 single serving; $60 for six people) for Ladurée in Vancouver. Inspired by the changing colours of maple leaves, it features pumpkin cream with pumpkin compote, maple sugar, and fall spices surrounded by vanilla ganache with orange zest and pumpkin spice. Topped with chopped pecans, the crust is Ladurée’s signature butter tartlet recipe.

Gourmet macarons ($10.50 each) are Ladurée’s newest macaron creation, made with two macaron shells filled with Chantilly cream, a special flavour, and compote hidden inside. For fall, it’s Pear Caramel with a caramel macaron shells and Mont Blanc (chestnut) with vanilla chestnut macaron shells.

The Praline Hazelnut Gateau ($11 each) is a hazelnut lover’s dream with a decadent hazelnut praline mousse inside, milk chocolate belt wrap, hazelnut milk chocolate glaze, and a crunchy almond and hazelnut biscuit.

Fall treats are now available Vancouver’s Ladurée Boutique and Tea Salon at 1141 Robson St. Ladurée Carriage Pop Up is located inside Holt Renfrew at 737 Dunsmuir St.
