Uno Gelato offers masterclasses in artisan gelato and sorbetto making
Uno Gelato is delighted to announce the safe restart of our popular Gelato 101 seminars this winter. The fun and tasty masterclasses are seasonally themed and are designed for “cone-noisseurs” and beginners alike, no experience needed. Fun for date night, a Valentine’s or Galentine’s gift, or foodies wanting to master how to cool things down in the kitchen, students will enjoy a hands-on experience of making artisan sorbetto or gelato in our lab. As well as gain an understanding of the history and science behind artisan gelato, and see up close how microbatch gelato is made.
A local gelatera, Uno Gelato is B.C. owned and operated and handcrafts Italian style gelato and sorbetto from scratch, made fresh daily. We embrace a “farm-to-cone” philosophy utilizing the best natural ingredients from local farmers and sustainably sourced suppliers. Our specialty flavours for February’s classes are Chocolate Amarena Cherry sorbetto and Banana Bread gelato, and in March are Matcha Made in Heaven gelato and Mango Tango sorbetto. Classes are only $59 per person (plus taxes) and include: an entertaining, interactive and delicious learning experience; a pint of the gelato or sorbetto made that night to take home; a cone or cup of choice during the visit; along with an extensive sampling of Uno Gelato’s current flavours. Limited to only 6 people, the sessions are held at our Kitsilano location. Private group classes are also available for booking.
Numerous new COVID safety protocols are in place and the classes are proceeding with the express approval of Vancouver Coastal Health. The sessions are offered on select Wednesday and Thursday evenings in February and March and are led by Uno Gelato Maestro Andrés Bermudez, who is formally trained in classic gelato and sorbetto making by the renowned Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna. Single Serving Cup Size Now Available for Home Delivery
We also have a new offering this season for customers at home that want to sample one or several new flavours without committing to a whole pint. New this winter available exclusively for delivery — is a single serving cup size (100 grams) of any of our current flavours. An optional gelato or sorbetto dozen is also available of our most popular flavours: the Gelato Dream pack includes: Salted Caramel x 4, New Fashioned Chocolate x 4, and Very Cherry x 4; or the Sorbetto Selection pack includes: Midnight Chocolate x 4, Lemon x 4, and Passion Fruit x 4 for $54.
