Along with its parent company Pernod Ricard, Corby is committed to be using only 100 per cent recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging within five years — and it is nearly there. More than 99 per cent of the primary containers used are recyclable.
“Recyclable, strawless lids for customers across the U.S. and Canada is another step in our journey to reduce our environmental footprint,” said Michael Kobori, chief sustainability officer at Starbucks.
This month, Starbucks begins its first market tests of a recyclable and compostable hot cup solution as part of the NextGen Cup Challenge, which seeks to address single-use packaging waste by developing an industry-wide recyclable and compostable to-go cup solution.
Greener cups and fewer straws, Starbucks is announcing today two innovative updates as part of the company’s global environmental aspirations. Starbucks will pilot a ‘Greener’ to-go cup in Vancouver – one that we will be testing for recyclability and composability in that area.
