Donnelly Group Toy Drive brings a Merry Christmas to local kids

 

15th annual celebration of seasonal giving takes place December 6th at Republic 

Every Christmas Donnelly Group gathers together to donate toys to deserving local families through the Salvation Army. Growing from the small group who gathered for the first time 15 years ago, the Donnelly Group Toy Drive now includes the 600 employees of Donnelly Group along with friends, partners, and suppliers to gather $100,000 worth of donations, a mountain of gifts for Vancouver kids, and a legendary holiday gala set to take place at 11pm Tuesday, December 6th at Republic Night Club.

Over the course of the decade and a half of Toy Drives, Donnelly Group has collected almost a million dollars in toys, piles of non perishable food items and has helped thousands of people get into the Christmas spirit by being part of Donnelly Group’s largest signature event of the year.

For many in the hospitality business, the holiday season is a whirl of late nights working holiday parties and the Toy Drive is intended to connect the Donnelly Group team to the true spirit of the season. So, instead of handing a cheque over the Salvation Army, Donnelly Group builds holiday spirit and community by involving all of their employees. Each employee is gifted a $50 Toys-R-Us gift card to be redeemed at the West Broadway Toys-R-Us and brought to the before big party at Republic with complimentary beverages, canapés make it a favourite holiday celebration.

 

The Toy Drive has always been open to members of the public who want to be part of this giving tradition. They are invited to purchase their own gifts and bring them (unwrapped) or to bring to bring food items for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
