The Mediterranean region’s incredible contribution to world cuisine will be honoured at a garden party held at Burnaby’s Hart House at Deer Lake on Wednesday, July 16 2014. The event will celebrate the diversity of the food and wine cultures of Spain, Italy, France, and Greece with an al fresco wine reception and dinner.
The event will begin with an hour-long wine tasting held on the lawn of Hart House’s gorgeous estate overlooking Deer Lake. Live music will set the tone for the festive evening. Guests will enjoy canapés paired with wines from 14 wineries located in some of the most renowned appellations in Spain, France, and Italy. A buffet dinner will follow in the comfortable shade of a marquis tent. The menu will feature Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including perfectly-prepared local seafood and BC-grown produce. A fine selection of Mediterranean wines will be available to enjoy with dinner, and there will be a full dessert selection.
