Praised in the same breath as Vino al Vino in Tuscany, Italy; Feast Portland in Oregon, USA; Rootstock Sydney in Australia; and Wine on the River in South Africa, Garagiste North was recognized by the London Financial Times in a print article Five of the best Wine Festivals by Andrew Joyce (and online by Melanie Abrams) as one of the events to hit worldwide.
Launched autumn 2014 at Meyers Family Vineyard in Okanagan Falls, Garagiste North: The Small Guys Wine Festival has earned a big reputation – not just in the London Financial Times but in the hearts of all of us who have attended. The good news is if you move quickly, you can still secure tickets for its latest event at The Laurel Packinghouse in Kelowna on September 27. Just go to http://www.garagistenorth.com/Event-Info/Get-Your-Tickets
Here’s where you can sleuth out those small lot wines of which you’ve read. Wander through the historic Laurel Packinghouse to taste over 25 hard-to-find wines and decide for yourself which ones you’d like to order. You’ll be able to connect with the artisan winemakers and other personalities behind the labels. There’s food truck service from the delicious folks (Chef Vincent Denis and Christine Leman) at Roxy’s Diner, and their food is mighty tasty, too, so you’ll want to grab these diner classics while the elusive truck is in range! And if all that is not enough to make your socks rock, there’s great music from Slap Dog.
Check out http://www.garagistenorth.com/ for the Garagistes that you’re bound to meet. Put a check mark beside one of the world’s best wine festivals and get your tickets today to hang with the cool kids on September 27.
See you there!
