Canadian Vermouth Named Best in Class  at New York World Wine and Spirits Competition

Odd Society Spirits to Release Barrel-Aged Vermouth After Double Gold Win

On the heels of receiving a Double Gold medal and the Best Vermouth award at the 2016 New York World Wine and Spirits Competition, Odd Society Spirits will launch the winning barrel-aged vermouth on October 21, 2016. The inaugural release is limited to 120 bottles available for purchase exclusively at the distillery.

“We are honoured to be recognized by the expert judges at the New York World Wine and Spirits Competition,” says Gordon Glanz, Odd Society Spirits Owner and Distiller. “Receiving a Double Gold medal for our first barrel-aged vermouth has affirmed our belief that it is one of our best recipes and we’re excited to be making it available to the public soon.”

Distinguishing their vermouth from the rest, Odd Society’s fortified wine is aged in bourbon barrels rather than commonly used wine barrels. The charred barrel ultimately adds warmth and depth to the flavour. Twenty-five unique botanicals, including locally foraged arbutus and cherry barks, infuse wine made from Naramata, B.C. grown Viognier grapes to add further character.

Odd Society’s barrel-aged vermouth is packaged in 375mL bottles and priced at $28 CDN. Limited releases often sell out quickly so eager consumers are encouraged to arrive at the distillery at 1PM on Friday, October 21 to secure their bottle.
