Postmark Brewing is back for the 2017 HSBC Canada Sevens Vancouver

The Canada Sevens organizing committee for the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series is excited to welcome back Vancouver craft brewery, Postmark Brewing, as the licensee and beer partner for 2017 and the subsequent 2018 & 2019 tournaments.

The award-winning Vancouver brewery joins HSBC Canada Sevens again, after a very successful opening year in 2016, with the re-release of their limited-edition Sevens IPA 355ml can (#redcan). The beer will be available throughout the BC market starting February 15th, selectively inside BC Place Stadium for the men’s tournament March 11th-12th, and exclusively at the women’s tournament May 27th-28th, at Westhills Stadium in Langford BC.

The announcement comes as the organizing committee celebrates 90% of tickets sold for the men’s tournament with 2.5 months until kick off. The 2016 tournament set records for Canada Rugby and sales in BC Place Stadium, as fans from all over the world gathered for one of the fastest growing sports in the world, Sevens Rugby. “We are thrilled to welcome back Postmark Brewing to the HSBC Canada Sevens family. They share our passion and our vision for bringing world-class experiences to our local markets” said Bill Cooper, CEO of HSBC Canada Sevens. “Thanks to Postmark Brewing, the HSBC Canada Sevens Series in Vancouver and Langford will once again be the only tournaments on the Series with our own custom brew.”

Along with BC Place and Westhills Stadiums, the Sevens IPA will also be available in 355ml cans throughout the retail markets and on draft in select bars and pubs in the Lower Mainland and Victoria.

“We are honoured to be back brewing the official beer for the 2017 HSBC Canada Sevens tournaments. We feel this is a big win for the entire craft beer category to be on such a world-wide stage at one of Canada’s most exciting events. Riding on the women’s sevens success in Rio, this should be a very exciting event for BC” comments Postmark Co-Founder & Partner: Steve Thorp.

“The Sevens IPA was designed as a bit more of an approachable IPA in comparison to some of its larger counterparts in the market. Focusing on flavour profile instead or a big hop bomb. Balance is key, and this IPA speaks to just that.” said Postmark Co-Founder & Partner: Nathan Rayment.

As the HSBC Canada Sevens tournament draws near, fans and ticket holders are encouraged not to wait to purchase their tickets. More information on the tournament and the experience for fans can be found at CanadaSevens.com.
