Spring has arrived at Liquidity Wines, bringing with it the re-opening of Liquidity Bistro – helmed by a powerhouse new chef and operations manager – and a fresh selection of wines perfect for patio season. There’s never been a better time to visit the vineyard and raise a glass to the best season yet!

“I’m thrilled to be back in the Okanagan and to be able to bring my style of food to the guests of Liquidity Bistro,” said Matt. “I’m particularly excited to start our own farm garden here at the winery. I think it’s incredibly important for people to know the story behind their food, and this will provide diners with access to hyper-local ingredients that they can actually see growing onsite.”

Easter weekend will see the release of the new vintages of three wines. The 2017 Pinot Gris ($19, plus tax) is sunshine in a glass with aromas of lemon meringue, pear and honeydew; a creamy mouthfeel offers flavours of kiwi, pineapple and a hint of almonds. It pairs well with light fish dishes, crisp green salad and veggie pasta. The 2017 Viognier ($25, plus tax) is bolder, with aromas of ripe peach, guava and jasmine; on the palate, the wine is rich and slightly spicy with flavours of apricot, lemon curd and a hint of white pepper. Ideal for warm weather, the Viognier is best enjoyed with curried mussels, salads and sunny patios with friends. Finally, the 2016 Pinot Noir Estate ($26, plus
tax) is light-to-medium-bodied with aromas of cherry, raspberry and Earl Grey tea; soft acidity and earthy notes underlie flavours of cherry, vanilla and spice. The wine is complex enough to be enjoyed on own, but pairs wonderfully with cured meats, roasted duck breast and mushroom pizza.
Guests can taste and purchase all three wines at Liquidity’s Tasting Room, which is open Mondaythrough Friday from noon to 5pmand weekends from 11am to 5pm; wines can also be purchased online. For more information, please visit Liquiditywines.com.
