Fleurs de Villes’ Floral Mannequin Series returns to Vancouver in 2018

Award-winning event comes to Metropolis at Metrotown from May 2–6 to bring a floral extravaganza to flower and fashion enthusiasts

Fleurs de Villes Inc. is bringing its third annual Floral Mannequin Series to Metropolis at Metrotown this May. The unique, five-day exhibition is Fleurs de Villes’ signature event and the first of its kind in Canada, blending fashion design and fresh blooms with bespoke floral-dressed mannequins and a pop-up fresh flower market.
Entering its third year of floral creativity, over a dozen top local Vancouver florists, including Dushan Flowers, Maureen Sullivan Floral Design School, Passion Floral Boutique, and The Flower Factory, will be paired with leading brands to design stunning displays and bring them to life with flowers. Each floral-dressed mannequin is clothed in a one-of-a-kind design made up of hundreds of fresh blooms. Public viewing of the finished mannequins kicks off with a VIP Preview Launch in a gallery-like setting in the heart of Metropolis at Metrotown on May 2 and runs until May 6 during regular business hours for the public. Visitors will also have the opportunity to pick up fresh-cut flowers, bouquets and other floral accessories from floral vendors at pop-up markets inspired by European flower markets.

“After crossing the country last year, we saw first hand that flowers make everyone happy—they amaze and they delight,” says Fleurs de Villes co-founder Karen Marshall.
“This show connects the public with a sensory experience they won’t see anywhere else,” adds Marshall. “This spring, we’re excited to continue our celebration of world-class floral talent and welcome new partners, fans and cities to our Fleurs de Villes family.”
The Floral Mannequin Series also adds a level of excitement and added beauty to the participating shopping centres.
“We are thrilled to have Fleurs de Villes back at Metropolis at Metrotown. Fleurs de Villes is truly a unique experience where fashion, florals and community all merge,” says Judy Black, marketing director of Metropolis at Metrotown. “This signature event is an excellent kick-off for spring fashion.”
You can literally stop and smell the roses during the Floral Mannequin Series this spring at any of the other tour stops: Place Ste-foy in Québec City (April 11–15), Bayshore Shopping Centre in Ottawa (April 18–22), Vaughan Mills in Toronto (April 19–23), Southgate Centre in Edmonton (May 30–June 3), and CrossIron Mills in Calgary (May 31–June 4).
