BC Home + Garden Show announces must-see garden attractions for plant enthusiasts

Marketplace Events announced today its top 5 must-see garden features at the 48th annual BC Home + Garden Show. Attendees can explore the latest garden and landscaping trends and hear from local gardening experts at the Show, happening from February 20-24, 2019 at BC Place Stadium. With more than 425 trusted brands and local companies, and appearances from the biggest names in the industry including HGTV Canada’s Bryan Baeumler of Island of Bryan, Carson Arthur of Home to Win, and Mickey Fabbiano and Sebastian Sevallo of Worst to First, the Show is the perfect place for plant lovers, budding gardeners and home and design enthusiasts alike to seek inspiration for every space this season.
1. Vancouver Sun Gardeners’ School, landscaped by the Great Canadian Landscaping Company
Showgoers can rediscover their lost love for all things leafy with daily seminars from the Lower Mainland’s top gardening gurus including Brian Minter of Minter Country Garden, and Alex Augustyniak of West Coast Seeds. Also, hear from local experts from GardenWorks, West Coast Gardens, Phoenix Perennials and Specialty Plants Ltd., and Shoreline Landscape Design with topics ranging from urban gardens to edibles and everything in between. Landscape designer and host of HGTV Canada’s Home to Win, Carson Arthur will also be taking the stage, sharing his insight on redefining the traditional backyard, including tips for growing food on balconies, rooftops and shared spaces.

2. Budding Balconies
Looking for ideas on how to spice up an outdoor living space? Showgoers can wander through brand new Show feature, Budding Balconies to experience four takes on platform perfection, highlighting four unique variations on the same balcony. From tranquil terraces to whimsical wonderlands, Budding Balconies is sure to leave showgoers feeling ready to tackle those small outdoor spaces with a big dose of green-spiration.
3. Garden Dreams, Landscape Reality
Showgoers can immerse themselves in nearly 10,000 square feet of beauty, as they wander, daydream and gather inspiration throughout our feature gardens. Attendees can speak with the experts in landscape design, horticulture, space planning and alfresco vision while organizing their next backyard makeover. An outdoor oasis awaits! Garden Dreams showcases local landscaping masters including Swick’s Organic Landscaping, Great Canadian Landscaping, Holley Landscaping, Para Space Landscape, Rakes & Ladders and No Limit Landscaping.
4. Revered Retreat presented by Yurtz by Design, styled by Jamie Banfield Design, landscaped by Swick’s Organic Landscaping
Step inside a 34-foot yurt, inspired by the Pacific Northwest, designed with natural stone and textural landscaping for a modern yet tranquil space. Presented by local yurt aficionados Yurtz by Design, styled by Jamie Banfield Design with landscaping by Swick’s Organic Landscaping, this cosy space is built with synchronicity, blending indoor and outdoor living into one.
5. Living Wall, designed by West Coast Gardens
Bring those plain walls to life (literally) with West Coast Gardens’ green-filled, living wall at the Show’s main entrance. Featuring the freshest, and hardiest local tropicals, this living wall will have showgoers plotting their own indoor plant makeover from the moment they enter the Show.
