Café Medina will help local ‘waffleficionados’ spread their love while giving back to the local community in a unique way by offering a one-day-only Medina WaffleGram package available for delivery throughout Vancouver’s downtown core on International Waffle Day, Monday, March 25.

Each Medina WaffleGram package includes six of Café Medina’s signature Liège waffles, one 125-mL jar of either milk chocolate lavender or raspberry caramel topping, a limited-edition gold-coloured waffle pin, a Medina matchbox, a personalized message and delivery within Vancouver’s downtown core for $39.99 plus tax, with $5 from each package donated to the BC Hospitality Foundation.

“While it’s easy to argue that every day is waffle day at Café Medina, this occasion gives us an extra reason to celebrate what has been one of our fan-favourite menu items and a mainstay since we opened our doors over eleven years ago,” says Café Medina Owner Robbie Kane. “It also allows us another opportunity to underscore our ongoing commitment to worthy causes in our local community.”

Throughout March, Café Medina will also be donating a dollar from the sale of each Grand Budapest Mai Tai cocktail sold at the bar to the BC Hospitality Foundation as part of its ‘Generous Pour’ program that benefits a rotating host of local charities. A creation of Bar Manager Marc Slingsby-Jones, the Grand Budapest Mai Tai is inspired by the 2014 Wes Anderson film and mingles Żubrówka bison grass vodka, Flor de Caña rum, housemade pistachio orgeat, pineapple/orange Curacao and fresh lime.

Already renowned for its unique brand of eclectic, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, Café Medina has earned its reputation as the city’s leading brunch destination thanks in part to its Liège waffles, made with yeast-leavened dough — as opposed to batter — and pearl sugar that give the rich and delicious waffles their trademark molten texture.
