80th ANNIVERSARY AFTERNOON TEA
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, officially opened on May 29, 1939 by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, is rolling out the red carpet for their anniversary. In homage of the hotel’s storied past, Notch8 is serving a themed 80th Anniversary Afternoon Tea.
If you have not been to Afternoon Tea at one of the Fairmont Hotels then you are in for a treat. This is a perfect way to say thank you, or I miss you, or you are special to your friends and loved ones. Grandmas and Aunties all love to be treated to Afternoon Tea.
This season it is very special because the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is celebrating their 80th Anniversary and you will be treated to a special menu available daily until September 1st.
I love all the finger sandwiches and the pastries and scones are divine but my favourite part of Afternoon Tea is the fabulous assortment of teas to choose from. My preferred tea selection is either the Floral Berry Garden or Organic Bella Coola Punch. Both are delicately flavoured with the Bella Coola Punch the darker, stronger of the two. Both are delightful even on the warmest days and so soothing on a cold, wintry day. Both are decaffeinated so you can enjoy them in the evening before bedtime. Below I have listed all the Lot 35 loose teas that are available for purchase online.
Afternoon tea includes a selection of scones with clotted cream and preserves, savory sandwiches like Coronation chicken salad, smoked salmon, shrimp and lobster topped with Northern Divine caviar and of course, cucumber with crème fraiche. The dessert finale offers treacle tart, Linzer torte, Battenberg cake, a crème brulee macaron and raspberry trifle. Every mother will receive a selection of hand-crafted chocolates to enjoy at home. Reservations are available at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, and adults are $99 (includes welcome glass of sparkling), and half price for children 12 years of age and under.
If your tiny tot is joining, we offer a Children’s Tea featuring kid-friendly finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats.
Additionally, we are pleased to offer options catering to guests with specific diet-dependent conditions such as gluten-free, as well as dietary preferences including vegetarian and vegan diets. Please notify us at time of booking and we will be delighted to facilitate.
Inquire with us for a special Bridal Shower Tea or Baby Shower Tea bookings.
