Time is running out to grab tickets to Victoria’s critically acclaimed annual end-of-summer beer festival
The Great Canadian Beer Festival, Canada’s oldest, is September 6 & 7, 2019, Victoria, BC
This September, embark on a cross-Canada beer tour for only $40 at the Great Canadian Beer Festival. Canada’s longest running beer festival will return to Victoria, September 6th and 7th for the 27th time, and this year will be the largest festival yet.
Just voted the ninth best beer city in the world by CNN, and the only Canadian city to make the list, Victoria is the perfect location for hosting one of Canada’s largest beer festivals.
Not only will attendees be able to taste craft beer and cider from 100 different breweries and cideries in one place, but they will also have the opportunity to meet the brewers and learn more about Canada’s beer culture. Some breweries will even have unique cask-conditioned beers specially produced for the festival.
“Festival goers will have the opportunity to taste beers they can’t find anywhere else,” says Joe Wiebe, co-founder of the Victoria Beer Society. “With over 275 beers and ciders at the event, representing nearly every province and territory in Canada, it’s a great opportunity to try something you wouldn’t normally have access to.”
Several breweries serving beer at the festival have only been open a couple of months, including Whistle Buoy Brewing (Victoria), Ace Brewing (Courtenay), Container Brewing (Vancouver), Rustic Reel Brewing (Kelowna), Wildeye Brewing (North Vancouver), and Slackwater Brewing (Penticton).
There will also be a variety of food trucks, serving everything from tacos to poutine to Filipino cuisine and much more, for people to curb their cravings.
For those coming from out of town, getting to Vancouver Island is easier than ever before, with services like BC Ferries, Harbour Air, Helijet, Victoria International Airport, the Clipper, Coho and V2V ferries. Also, whether you’re looking for high-end, or budget friendly, there are multiple hotel deals to choose from, available on the Great Canadian Beer Festival website.
The two-day festival is held at Royal Athletic Park, just walking distance from downtown Victoria. Single-Day Tickets are $40, and a two-day pass is $70.
