SUNDAY THROWDOWN

Tailgate every Sunday with Big Day BBQ at The American

If you’ve been waiting all summer for the NFL season to start, mark all Sundays in your calendar as Vancouver’s barbecue pop-up, Big Day Barbeque (BBQ), kicks-off a tailgating series on game day Sundays at 10 a.m. at The American (926 Main Street).

As soon as doors open, fans can order Big Day BBQ snacks while waiting for the meat to start slicing at 11 a.m. sharp. The menu includes Big Day BBQ’s classic spread of 14 hours smoked brisket, Memphis-style ribs, pulled pork, and a variety of sides – Tex-Mex Pasta Salad, Smokey Slaw, and Pit Beans. Everything will be paired with a rotating list of locally made beers, starting with Strange Fellows Brewing.

“Sundays are about to heat up at The American,” says Rhys Amber, co-founder of Big Day BBQ. “We are so excited to start working with the team and making football Sundays even more memorable and tasty. It’s going to be great!”

Specials, such as half chickens, beef ribs, and Frito pies, are expected to be announced each week on Big Day BBQ’s Instagram page. Big Day BBQ and Beer packages will be available for purchase at The American on game days.

Big Day BBQ, the “Tailgate” series, is first-come, first serve, starting at 10 a.m. every Sunday until December 29, 2019 at The American (926 Main Street). Prices start from $20. For more updates, please visit Big Day BBQ’s Instagram page under the @bigdaybbq handle or bigdaybbq.ca.

About Big Day Barbeque (BBQ)
Originally created by Rhys Amber, formerly Campagnolo Roma and Bistro Wagon Rouge, Colin Staus, formerly Campagnolo and Monarch Burger, and Powell Brewerys’s David Bowkett a couple years ago, the Big Day BBQ series is a celebration of Southern-style BBQ in its truest form – feasting on good ol’ barbecue and beer with friends in a fun environment. This year they are joined by Downlow Chicken’s Doug Stephen, who knows a thing or two about cooking good grub. Those interested in attending a Big Day can keep up-to-date via Big Day’s Instagram page under the @bigdaybbq handle.
