The exquisite wines of Mirabel have been on my #FavouriteThings list since I first discovered them in the spring of 2017 and fell in love. Initially the Rosé of Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir were my favourites. Later as I set upon my journey of the exploration of Chardonnay I included their entire portfolio as wines I, without hesitation, personally recommend.
Not included on our list today is their much anticipated 2017 Pinot Noir which will be released on May 15, 2020. Mark your calendars!
Mirabel wines are joining our #ShiptoSip campaign and now is your opportunity to take advantage of special, lower pricing and free shipping. I suggest you order from Mirabel without delay as all of their wines are available only in limited quantities.
Mirabel is pleased to announce their newest release:
2017 Pinot Noir
This is an elegantly structured, medium bodied Pinot Noir. On approach, this wine is aromatic with hints of vanilla and wild berry. Moving forward it presents orange pekoe and bramble berry notes leading to a bright, long finish.

2015 Pinot Noir
Intensely aromatic, brooding dark fruits intertwine with subtle toasty nuances. A powerful Pinot with layered complexity of red berries and forest floor, lead to a firm yet sensual structured finish. This wine will reward cellaring.

The 2015 Mirabel Pinot Noir was aged 11 months exclusively in French oak (30% new) from the famed François Frères cooperage in Burgundy. Gentle handling, including gravity transfer from barrel to bottle, helped to maintain the elegant texture, rich fruit, soft spice and gorgeous length of the wine.
2016 Pinot Noir
Gently handled, this is a silky, powerful Pinot with an appealing palate of cherry, dark fruit and subtle hints of oak. A good weight on the palate leads to a firm yet sensual structured finish. This wine will reward cellaring.

Distinctive character, with rich palate coating textures and lots of layers and depth – this is benchmark Wine.
2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir
Gentle handling of the Pinot Noir, including cool fermentation in stainless steel and six months of lees contact, produced this delicate, dry, saignée-method Rosé. Lifted citrus peels with a sherbet note. Rich and textural on the palate, good sweet fruit entry leads to a complex savoury aspect. Fresh acidity carries the wine to a very lengthy finish. Hand-harvested October 6, 2017.
- 200 cases produced
Distinctive character, with rich palate coating textures and lots of layers and depth – this is benchmark Wine.
2016 Chardonnay
Whole bunch pressed Naramata Chardonnay; 30% to new Francois Frere French oak in Puncheon. Full malolactic fermentation took place with 11 months lees aging. A minimal intervention approach to this wine allows the fruit to shine and dictate the end flavour profile. Little handling means this wine was not stabilized, therefore harmless tartrites, or “wine diamonds” are possible.
- Hand-harvested October 20, 2016
- 185 cases produced
The resulting wine is intensely structured, with a lush mid palate. Subtle toasty nuances overlap delicate, yet ripe and rich tropical fruit. Sweet mango and citrus fruits with buttered marmalade and toast lead to a long finish that will reward cellaring.
Distinctive character, with rich palate coating textures and lots of layers and depth – this is benchmark Wine.

The Mirabel Estate Vineyard
Mirabel, “of wondrous beauty”, perfectly represents the Reimer family’s stunning South East Kelowna hilltop estate and vineyard overlooking the beautiful Okanagan Valley.
The family’s commitment to quality and producing a luscious, elegant, sustainably-grown Pinot Noir is evident in this first vintage.
The Reimer Family Vineyard was planted in 2006 on a steep hill with both southwesterly and northwesterly aspects. Grapes were planted at an elevation of 930 feet, up to 1220 at the top. Careful soil analysis revealed a complex mixture of calcium carbonate, alluvial sediments, and a silt loam sits overtop a gravel loam. Six acres (84 rows) were planted to three sustainably-grown Dijon clones: 115, 667 and 777, blended together for optimum colour, flavour, acidity, tannin and length.
