For those of us with our feet planted more firmly on the ground our thoughts just may be turning to wine, specifically the wines of the latest Spring Releases. In this series of features, I will endeavour to update you on the new spring releases from some of my favourite British Columbia wineries.
A perennial favourite Four Shadows releases three wines for your sipping pleasure. Spring releases are your nudge to order these delectable wines before they sell out!
Here are the three wines from Four Shadows:
2021 Rosé
This light, salmon coloured, off-dry Rosé is a blend of Pinot Noir and Merlot grapes. Delightful aromas of strawberry, rhubarb and roses. On the palate the focus is on strawberry, grapefruit and a hint of citrus. The balance of acid, sweetness and fruitiness makes it a lovely patio sipper.
2021 Riesling Classic
Again, this classic Okanagan Riesling displays flowery, almost perfumed aromas. You’ll find notes of papaya, apricot, pear and peach complimented with lemon and lime zest. The sweetness of the wine is beautifully cut with the naturally high acidity of the grape, allowing for versatile pairing options. The hot summer contributed to higher alcohol levels.
2019 Merlot
Barrel aged in French oak, dried plum takes the spotlight on both the nose and palate, along with hints of black currant, nuts and chocolate. A full bodied, elegant wine with a long finish.
