Gourmet Italian Sandwich Pop-up on Commercial Drive
in Collaboration with PiDGin Restaurant

Bar Corso, an authentic Italian bar on Commercial Drive, is hosting a “Pane” Pop-up, featuring gourmet sandwiches and Italian beverages, all served on their beautiful curbside patio, as well as available for take-away, on August 27th, 2023.

From 12 pm to 3 pm, Bar Corso’s Head Chef Luke Boswell will be serving his interpretation of classic sandwiches and giving them an Italian twist, while incorporating local bakeries into each delicious creation. As someone who can spend all day talking about his love of sandwiches, the pop-up is the perfect opportunity for Luke to express his passion for handhelds. Noteworthy menu items include the Italian ‘mcmuffin’ made with thick-cut mortadella, a fried egg, and provolone cheese, all served on a sourdough crumpet, as well as the Fishdog, a cuttlefish, prawn, and cod sausage topped with pickled mustard tarragon emulsion, and crispy shallots served on a Tall Shadows bun. Sandwiches will range from $18 to $22 and will be available from 12 PM to 3 PM or until they run out.

Bar Corso’s ‘PANE’ pop-up doesn’t stop at sandwiches. The drink menu, which was carefully crafted by PiDGin Vancouver’s Wine Director Ryan Tanner, includes a variety of Italian wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages chosen to pair perfectly with the sandwiches offered. Drinks include $8 bottles of Peroni lager, $12 glasses of Medici Ermete Lambrusco, and assorted Italian beverages supplied by The Drive Canteen.

The ‘PANE’ Sandwich Pop-Up will take place on Bar Corso’s Terrace located at 1566 Commercial Drive, on Sunday, August 27th from 12 PM – 3 PM or until sold out. “PANE” Sandwich items will be available to guests dining on Bar Corso’s patio, or those looking for takeaway.
