FAIRMONT HOTEL VANCOUVER UNVEILS ‘YEAR OF THE SNAKE’
LUNAR NEW YEAR AFTERNOON TEA EXPERIENCE
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is delighted to invite guests to celebrate the auspicious arrival of the Year of the Snake with a special afternoon tea experience. Starting January 9, 2025, guests can indulge in a festive spread of exquisite tea blends and delectable treats, all thoughtfully crafted to honor the traditions and flavours of this joyful occasion.
In a stunning blend of elegance and cultural celebration, Fairmont’s expert culinary team has created a Lunar New-year inspired afternoon tea menu that features both savory and sweet offerings. Guests can savour a roasted duck tart, shrimp toast, five-spice chocolate cake, and other delicacies, all paired with a curated selection of fine teas.
This year, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is proud to partner with the Chinatown Storytelling Centre to highlight the rich cultural heritage of Vancouver’s Chinatown. This partnership brings an extra layer of depth to the afternoon tea experience, inviting guests to explore the Centre to learn about the history and significance of this traditional holiday. In addition, a special tea blend, created by the Chinatown Storytelling Centre and TEALEAVES, will be featured on the menu, offering an exclusive taste of this cultural journey. From January 29 to February 2, guests can also enjoy the unique ‘Golden Mountain’ cocktail at Notch8 bar.
The tea room’s custom Year of the Snake illustration is designed by Vancouver-based artist, Nicole Larsen of Ripple & Rise, which combines elements that symbolizes good fortune, prosperity, and happiness for the year ahead. As an added bonus, 8 lucky tea-goers will receive special Lucky Gifts, which include a ‘Day in Chinatown’ Giftset and dining vouchers.
This limited-time experience will be available Thursday through Sunday from January 9 to February 23, 2025 at the hotel’s Notch8 Restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended due to expected high demand.
On Lunar New Year, January 29, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver will treat guests to a vibrant Lion Dance performance by Hon Hsing Athletic Club, taking place throughout the lobby and Notch8. Afternoon tea will also be available on this special day.
Reservations for the Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea can be made here.
