The purpose of an Advent calendar is to build joyful anticipation and provide a daily marker for the days leading up to Christmas. Advent typically begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas, which is known as Advent Sunday, and lasts until Christmas Eve. Whereas the 12 days of Christmas start on December 25 and runs until January 6.
Personally I am not ready to start my festivities on the first day of Advent, which this year began on December 1. Nor am I willing to wait. I’ve decided to set my own schedule and I can’t wait to share my Dillon’s Advent offerings with adult family members over the holidays.
