2025 Sauvignon Blanc

New Vintage!

Tasting Notes

Aromas of fresh cut grass, juniper, pear and lime lead to a palate brimming with citrus rind, crisp dry apple and gooseberry. Pair with pistachio crusted ling Cod.

Winemaker Notes

The 2025 Sauvignon Blanc was hand harvested on September 6 and 7 from well respected growers in the South Okanagan Valley. The grapes were destemmed, gently pressed for optimal juice extraction, cold settled for two days and racked into stainless steel tanks. The Aromaloc was utilized during a slow cool fermentation to help preserve the lush aromatics and flavours of this outstanding vintage. It was then aged a further three months in stainless steel tanks. The wine was cross blended, filtered and bottled on January 22, 2026.

2025 Trebbiano

Tasting Notes

Lifted aromas of melon, bosc pear, and citrus rind lead into a round mouthfeel of honeysuckle, pear and lemon cream pie. An outstanding pairing for steamed mussels and clams.

Winemaker Notes

After a brief hiatus, Hester Creek is happy for the return of our Old Vine Trebbiano. Trebbiano thrives on Block 16 of our historic Golden Mile Bench estate vineyard. After a couple of challenging growing seasons, the vineyard has recovered remarkably well and produced beyond our expectations. The grapes were hand harvested, destemmed and pressed on September 20, 2025. The resulting juice was then cold soaked for 1 day before being racked into stainless steel tanks. The wine was cool fermented for 31 days and aged a further 3 months in tank. It was then cross blended, filtered and bottled on February 26, 2026.

The resulting juice was cold settled for one day before being racked into stainless steel tanks. The Aromaloc was utilized during a slow cool fermentation to help preserve the lush aromatics and flavours of this outstanding vintage. 2023 Character White

Tasting Notes

Deliciously characteristic of the South Okanagan terroir, our 2023 Foundation Series Character White expresses delicate aromas of rose water, lychee, fresh ginger and ripe melon. An exotic, slightly off-dry palate of honeycomb, lychee and roasted fennel evolve into an elegant finish to make this the wine of choice for pairing with a caramelized onion and Gruyère tart.

Winemaker Notes

In 2023, our winemaking team created a new iteration of our traditional Character White by shifting the blend to a majority of Gewürztraminer and a portion of Pinot Gris. The grapes were hand harvested on the 28th and 31st of August before being whole cluster pressed and co-fermented to enhance the complexity of the wine. Once fermented, the wine was aged for four months in stainless steel tanks and bottled on January 18, 2024.

2025 Pinot Gris Viognier

From the Columbia Valley Collection, this wine is wonderfully aromatic, juicy & refreshing. A brilliant crowd-pleaser; the perfect wine for entertaining!

TASTING NOTES

Crisp and beautifully aromatic, our 2022 Pinot Gris Viognier leads with lifted aromas of fresh lime zest, nectarine, pear and clover. The palate displays refreshing, mouth-watering acidity on the entry, followed by a light minerality with notes of honey and citrus. This wine is wonderful on its own as an aperitif, or pair it with a light, citrus-crusted sole.

WINEMAKING

Our 2022 Pinot Gris Viognier comes from several premium locations in the South Okanagan. We began harvest in early October with the Pinot Gris, which was sourced from the Gill Vineyard on Fairview Road and the Chahal Vineyard in Oliver. We allowed a longer hang time for the Viognier component, harvesting the grapes in late October from the Chahal Vineyard and Gill Family Vineyard on Road 7. The grapes were hand sorted and whole berry pressed, resulting in a clean juice which was cold settled, then racked before undergoing fermentation. After a long, cool fermentation, this vintage was blended and aged on fine lees for four months before being bottled on February 8th, 2023.

2025 Pinot Gris

New Vintage!

Tasting Notes

Lifted aromas of green apple, melon, cantaloupe and a hint of anise greet you on the nose. A full mouthfeel showcases dry Asian pear, apricot, honeycomb and almond with a hint of citrus on the finish. This wine would pair nicely with calamari and lemon tzatziki.

Winemaker Notes

This bright and refreshing Pinot Gris is an exceptional mix of both estate grown fruit from our historic Block 5 and fruit sourced from trusted growers in the South Okanagan Valley. Hand harvesting began mid August and continued to mid September. The grapes were destemmed, gently pressed for optimal juice extraction and cold settled of two days before being racked into stainless steel tanks. The Aromaloc was utilized during a slow cool fermentation to help preserve the lush aromatics and flavours of this outstanding vintage. The wine was then aged a further three months in stainless steel tanks. It was cross blended, filtered and bottled in January of 2026.

Vineyard Notes

The winter of 2022 set up less-than-ideal projections for 2023; however, the 2023 growing season at Hester Creek was everything that one could hope for in producing outstanding grapes for our wines. Growing Degree Days (GDD) reached 1835, making it the highest accumulation of GDDs for the months of April through August. Harvest began earlier than usual on August 25th with Pinot Noir and ended on October 1st with Cabernet Sauvignon. This compacted season became a story of quality over quantity and allowed our winemaking team to create new wines for our portfolio, craft variations of existing wines and use techniques like whole cluster pressing on 90% of our white wines and allowing for extended maceration periods on our red wines. Overall, the Hester Creek wine coming out of the 2023 season is an example of excellence rooted in the South Okanagan terroir.

Vineyard Notes

The 2025 season at Hester Creek will go down as one of the best vintages the Okanagan Valley has seen to date. The season was the perfect union of growing conditions; consistent heat with no extremes, low disease pressure, no spring frost and Growing Degree Days (GDD) of 1859, the highest ever recorded in the Okanagan Valley. Early bud break couple with warm summer days allowed the grapes to reach full phenolic ripeness and retain acidity, producing wine that is balanced with intense flavour. The vineyards that were damaged during the winters of 2023 and 2024 were able to recover and produce beyond expectation with favourable growing conditions yielding a larger than average harvest of exceptional fruit. The 2025 harvest started on August 27 with Gewürztraminer for our Ti Amo and finished November 6 with Syrah. After the challenging 2023 and 2024 growing seasons, this spectacular 2025 harvest is the vintage we were all hoping for.
