About this Visa Infinite Dining Series Experience
At Kavita, Chef Tushar Tondvalkar offers a refined, inventive, and positively decadent “ammākase” (chef’s choice) experience focusing on regional, coastal, and Mumbai-inspired cuisine. It will forever change your idea of what Indian food can be, and that is exactly what Chef has in mind. Chef Tushar opened Kavita after a career spent in some of Vancouver’s finest kitchens (among them Blue Water Café and Bauhaus) and Michelin-starred ones in Bangkok before realizing what he really wanted to cook was the food of his Mumbai home. Joining him for this special event is Chef Francis Blais, Chef-Owner of Montreal’s hot new Bistrot à Franky and winner of Top Chef Canada 2020.
These two chefs are as artful as they are soulful, meticulous, and creative, and guests can expect an extraordinary flavour journey paired with fine wines and well-crafted cocktails

ABOUT TUSHAR TONDVALKAR
Chef Tushar Tondvalkar is the Owner and Executive Chef of Kavita, a modern Indian restaurant that opened in late 2025 in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood. But his culinary journey took more than a decade to reach this point. From the busy chaos of his Mumbai hometown, it has taken him to the Michelin-starred kitchens of Gaggan and Gaa in Bangkok as well as some of Vancouver’s most respected dining rooms, including Blue Water Café, Bauhaus, and The Fish House in Stanley Park. He is also the Chef and Founder of The Indian Pantry, Culinary Director at Manzil at Kismet Winery and winner of the cooking competition show Chefs vs. Wild on Hulu/Disney+. Most of all, Chef Tushar loves introducing people to the richly diverse flavours of India.
ABOUT FRANCIS BLAIS
Chef Francis Blais is the Chef-Owner of the newly opened—and eagerly anticipated—Bistro à Franky in Montreal’s Mile End. He was the winner of Top Chef Canada in 2020, the same year he became cofounder of Menu Extra, an innovative culinary studio that produces pop-ups serving curated gastronomic experiences pairings in artful venues. Previously, Chef Blais worked in some of Montreal’s most prestigious restaurants, including Maison Boulud and Le Mousso, where he was Chef de Cuisine. Now at long last he is opening a restaurant featuring the food he loves to cook and eat: simple, timeless, technically accomplished, and artfully presented.
