En Terre Sparkling Brut 2022

Okanagan Valley VQA

Grown under the embrace of four solar panels where our vineyard sheep graze, our Pinot Noir is rooted above our geothermal system and blended with Chardonnay from our friend’s vineyard in Kaleden. Our family’s heart and the perpetual motion of organic farming are encapsulated in every sip, reflecting our dedication to the land and community.

TASTING NOTES
Pale gold in color with lasting, fine bubbles, this wine is a true celebration of elegance. The nose reveals a symphony of brioche, lemon, apple, and white blossom. On the palate, it is dry with bright acidity and a fine mousse, offering flavors of lemon/lime, apple, meringue, brioche, white cranberry, and floral notes. The creamy texture and very long finish make every sip indeed an indulgence.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Our first Traditional Method Brut was made with 69% Pinot Noir and 31% Chardonnay grapes and were gently whole cluster pressed. The juice was co-fermented, at cool temperatures, for an initial 16 day primary fermentation until fully dry. After aging for 3 months, the base wine was bottled and the secondary ferment was carried out in bottle, in the traditional method – a timeless technique. After 16 months en tirage, the wine was disgorged, with no dosage added.

En Terre Riesling 2023

TASTING NOTES:
This En Terre Riesling expresses as much elegance as it does energy, leading with bergamot, pear and layers of elevated citrus. The touch of sweetness on the palate rounds out with a medley of stone fruits and delicate florals, with complexity building with each sip.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES:
En Terre meaning ‘earthen’ or ‘of the earth’ is the embodiment of this special wine project. Crafted with an inventive spirit, this Riesling is from Gold Digger and Boulders Blocks from our new property in Okanagan Falls. This wine is a testament to sustainability. It harmonizes vibrant fruit and thoughtful farming to reflect the beauty of these two blocks at Storm Haven Vineyard. A symbol of collaboration and conservation, its precise balance and distinctive terroir celebrate innovative winemaking.

The fruit was hand harvested from the two separate blocks at our Storm Haven Vineyard located in Okanagan Falls. The Boulders block was harvested on Sept 19, 2023 followed by the Gold Digger block which was harvested on September 21st. The two lots were gently whole cluster pressed, then blended together and co-fermented at cool temperatures. After 31 days the fermentation was arrested to retain residual sugar, in order to balance out the fresh acidity.

En Terre Cabernet Franc 2022

Vineyards: Rock Oven, Okanagan Falls, BC

En Terre, meaning ‘earthen’ or ‘of the earth’ is the embodiment of this special wine project. Grown under Peach Cliff’s warmth, this small-lot Cabernet Franc from Rock Oven Vineyard captures the late sun. A celebration of collaboration and innovative farming, it’s inspired by Da Vinci’s exploration, embodying our commitment to intentional and sustainable farming. This wine is a tribute to the unique spirit of our land and the bighorn sheep that witness its growth.

TASTING NOTES
This wine has a medium ruby hue with a fuchsia rim that captivates at first glance and then reveals ripe black cherry, cola, raspberry jam, and warm baking spices on the nose. On the palate the wine is dry with medium-plus acidity, medium fine, ripe tannins and medium body, delivering flavours of ripe cherry, red plum, raspberry, dried herbs, and  baking spices, with a long lasting finish.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Cabernet Franc was hand picked from Rock Oven, then destemmed and lightly crushed. After a 3 day cold soak, the must was fermented in two oak fermentation barrels (700 L and 450 L French oak), with manual punchdowns occurring twice a day over a 16 day fermentation. Following a 7 day post ferment maceration, the wine was pressed off and racked to French oak barrels where it spent 18 months.

Food Pairing – As a summer red, chill slightly and pair with grilled meat and sheep or goat cheese or enchiladas verdes.
