New opening hours and Euro 2016 matches at South Main eatery
There’s a new lunch spot in town, just in time for summer. The Cascade Room on Main Street is now open daily from 11 am.
“We’re extremely excited about the restaurant opening for lunch for the first time ever,” says Justin Taylor, the Cascade Room’s general manager. “With some extensive kitchen renovations to accommodate the increase in service, there’s something for everyone – from full English breakfast to steak frites.”
The lunch menu, created by Executive Chef Tim Evans, features local, seasonal ingredients. Highlights include:
– Salt Spring Island Mussels with Thai curry, red chili, lemongrass and coconut $16
– Grilled Halloumi Salad with blackberries $15
– The Cascade Burger with Blue Goose Ranch organic beef, double smoked bacon, cheddar and tomato chutney $17
– Oven Roasted Wild Sockeye Salmon with fingerling potatoes, double smoked bacon, green beans and arugula salad $19
– Mushroom and Hazelnut Tart with cream cheese, Heirloom carrots and spring salad $16
For thirsty patrons, the bar menu offers a mix of BC (Main Street Brewing, Crannog and Driftwood) and International (Guinness) draught beer selections, along with guest taps and cask ales. Spirit-forward cocktails include a G&T punch, Negroni, and a Caesar made with Walter Craft Caesar Mix. Red, white and sparkling wines, from BC and beyond, are available by the glass.

Game On: Euro 2016 at The Cascade Room, June 10 – July 10
In addition to the lunch launch, the Cascade Room is celebrating Euro 2016, June 10 – July 10, by showing matches (on select days) at 6 am, 9 am and noon, LIVE in the restaurant’s big screen lounge area.
For early morning matches, fans can enjoy the sports action with tasty items from a special breakfast menu. The full lunch menu is available daily starting at 11 am.
Note: A $15 cover charge applies for 6 am Euro 2016 matches, which includes breakfast and bottomless tea or coffee. Alcohol sales start at 9 am for the duration of Euro 2016.
