Vancouver Opera (VO) continues its 2022-2023 season with the company premiere of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
This November, an acclaimed Vancouver opera comapny is launching their eighth season with one of the funniest operas in the repertoire. On November 15, 16, 22 and 23, Opera Mariposa will present Puccini’s one-act comedy Gianni Schicchi at St. Faith’s Anglican Church.
Vancouver Opera’s 2019/2020 season is kicking off with a sumptuous new production of Giuseppe Verdi’s timeless romantic tragedy, La Traviata. In an unprecedented collaboration, Vancouver Opera joins four other Canadian opera companies as they co-present this opera reaching more opera patrons than ever before.
The rising stars of the UBC Opera Ensemble and members of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra bring Opera & Arias: Verdi and More! to Vanier Park on two Mondays in late August and early September.
“Never has there been a more exciting time for Vancouver Opera as we prepare to welcome traditional and new work to our stages with two opera classics and a West Coast premiere,” said Kim Gaynor, Vancouver Opera General Director.
“This is Game of Thrones-level drama. Treachery, swordfights, murders, wild women in the woods telling the future…what isn’t to love?” says Jeanine Fynn, Macbeth’s Director.
