Fable Restaurant has teamed up with Samuel Adams at this year’s Khatsahlano Street Festival in Vancouver, BC. This partnership is designed to bring an unique experience integrating beer at Fable’s patio and restaurant. Samuel Adams has had a longstanding commitment to showcasing how versatile beer can be when pairing with food, especially with the variety of craft styles available today.
The West 4th Avenue Khatsahlano Street Party is Vancouver’s biggest FREE Music and Arts Festival that drew crowds of over 118,000 people in 2013! This year’s festival will feature EIGHT stages showcasing more than 50 of Vancouver’s top musical performers as well as the eclectic work of local artisans and street performers. This 10-block street fair also features a wide variety of food options, bustling patios, giveaways, special activities, and new this year, licensed outdoor beer gardens!

In 1984, the beer landscape was vastly different from what it is today. Craft beers were virtually non-existent. Jim Koch, a Bostonian with five generations of brewers behind him, believed it was time to change that. He set out with his great-great grandfather’s recipe and homebrewed the first batch of Samuel Adams Boston Lager in his kitchen. Jim hand-delivered samples around Boston, and in April 1985, Samuel Adams Boston Lager made its debut in about 25 bars and restaurants in Boston, all while only having two employees.
That same year, Boston Lager was awarded the Best Beer at the Great American Beer Festival, and has gone on to win more awards than any other brewery in the world. Samuel Adams is still independently owned today, and Jim still spends time at the brewery coming up with new recipes for beers. Today, Samuel Adams is known for its brewing innovation and variety of quality brews, as well as its excellence as a food pairing or ingredient.
