LITTLE FARM WINERY WINES NOW REPRESENTED IN BC & QUEBEC BY TANDEM WINE SELECTION AND UNIVINS, BOTH MEMBERS OF THE VINI-QUATRO GROUP
Cawston, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, Canada.
Tandem Wine Selection and Univins will now be working with Little Farm Winery to represent their wines in British Columbia and Quebec.
“We are excited to be working with Little Farm Winery to help raise the awareness of their wines across Canada. We’ll start in British Columbia and Quebec with the prospect of branching into the rest of Canada as the winery’s capacity grows. We love the philosophy at Little Farm Winery to focus on the terroir and use minimal intervention when making the wines. This partnership is the perfect fit!” Luisa Deziel, Regional Manager – Western Canada.
Little Farm Winery is the small hands-on operation of Rhys Pender MW and Alishan Driediger. It started with a passion for wine and developed into growing and producing Chardonnay and Riesling from their Mulberry Tree Vineyard at their home in Cawston, BC in the beautiful Similkameen Valley. The goal was always to make wines with minimal manipulation and intervention that really capture the vineyard site and each year’s unique growing season. The vines were planted beginning in 2009 on the calcium carbonate rich soil, braving the unforgiving Similkameen sun and wind. The first wines were made in 2011.
“At Little Farm, my wife Alishan and I do everything from the vineyard work through to making the wine and everything in between. Our focus and attention has been on making characterful wines and as a result we haven’t spent much time on the road selling. It is great to team up with Luisa and Daniel of Tandem as they share our philosophy of interesting terroir driven wines and can help get ours in front of customers,” says Rhys Pender MW of Little Farm.
Luisa Deziel is WSET certified and has over 23 years’ experience working directly in the wine industry in BC. Her background is in restaurant management as well as working at the leading wine agencies, consulting on various wine events and programs in the province.
Tandem Wine Selection evolved from a commitment to offer suppliers business opportunities across the Canadian market. Daniel Richard put forth an expansion plan for the Vini-Quatro Group to develop local talent through Tandem subsidiaries. The first Tandem agency was established in Alberta in 2007 followed by Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and now, British Columbia. Founded in 1999, Univins in Quebec is now the 5th largest agency in Quebec.
