Did you take advantage of ElectroRecycle‘s small appliance collection last year at Kitsilano and the Winter Markets? The recycling junkies are back this season as official sponsors of Trout Lake and Kitsilano Markets!

The first Saturday of each month from May-October at Trout Lake, ER and their partners at the Trout Lake Youth Council will be collecting your old, broken, and unwanted appliances for FREE! ElectroRecycle ambassadors will also be onsite each first Sunday at Kitsilano providing the same service. They plan to hold some fun draws and contests, so look out for their tent at these markets!

For a complete list of what they recycle, visit their Recycling Page.

Kerrisdale Closure

It’s with regret that we announce the permanent closure of our Saturday Kerrisdale Market, which took place each June – Oct at 5500 East Boulevard. Despite having the loyal following of a core group of Kerrisdale regulars, this location suffered from declining attendance and vendor sales over the past few seasons.

While it is never an easy decision for us to close a market, we’re happy to report that overall, our markets are attracting more shoppers than ever before. Last year, 455,000 shoppers came out to VFM markets, an increase of 5,000 from 2014.
