Located at the historic Greata Ranch property in Peachland, British Columbia, newly opened Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards offers guests a truly outstanding wine and food experience in an incomparable setting and they are excited to share their new offerings and experiences with you this summer.
After 18-months of construction, President Gordon Fitzpatrick along with Winemaker Sarah Bain are excited to share the first wines that were produced at the state-of-the-art gravity flow facility. The recently released 2016 wines are fresh, vibrant and showcase the purity of the Okanagan. Having received much acclaim for their Ehrenfelser at CedarCreek Estate Winery (which was sold to von Mandl Family Estates in 2014), the Fitzpatrick’s are once again producing this fan-favourite (known at Fitz as the The Unwinder Ehrenfelser) in 2016, in addition to The Lookout Riesling, The Mischief Pinot Blanc, Interloper Gewurtztraminer, Pink Mile Rosé and the flagship Fitz Brut 2013, which recently won a Gold medal at the coveted WineAlign, National Wine Awards of Canada.
“It is a particularly exciting vintage for me,” notes Winemaker Sarah Bain who hails from Central Otago, New Zealand. “Not only was it my first vintage with the winery, but we also got to christen the new facility. The Fitzpatrick family have truly created a legacy in the Okanagan and I am proud to be a part of this next chapter.”
In addition to the newly released still wines, sparkling wines are always on display at the winery at the unique Sparkling Bar. In addition to featuring the traditional-method Fitz sparkling wines, you can also sample a flight of international sparklings including Cava, Prosecco or Champagne to show you the differences between each region and winemaking method.
To complete your winery experience, FITZ Bistro highlights the bounty of the Okanagan with one of the most spectacular views of the valley. With renowned Canadian Chef Tony de Luca at the helm, along with several of his top graduating students from the Canadian Food & Wine Institute at Niagara College, the bistro is open seven days a week for lunch, specializing in brunches on weekends, with dinner service on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during the summer.
