H2 Rotisserie & Bar welcomes fall with the launch of its culinary classes to help guests and Vancouver locals get crafty in the kitchen. These sessions are designed for both beginners and savvy home cooks looking to expand their repertoires with H2 chefs’ favourite contemporary and traditional dishes.
Led by Executive Chef Kamal Silva, Executive Sous Chef Mike Reid, and H2 Rotisserie & Bar Chef, Caitlin Mark, these playful, informative demonstrations include everything from proper emulsification of vinaigrette to techniques for tableside turkey-carving.
The first class of the series kicks off on Thanksgiving Day, October 9th, with a Thanksgiving-themed dinner featuring a holiday spinach salad, roast turkey with all the fixings, and pumpkin chiffon pie for a sweet reward. H2’s expert chefs will teach attendees the basics of prepping a turkey in the class, but will also have some roasting ahead of time. This will ensure that they can be enjoyed by the class’ participants during the dining portion of the evening alongside the fixings that they’ll prepare and enjoy from scratch. Fixings include a classic cranberry stuffing, gravy, maple yams, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and roasted brussels sprouts with bacon and parmesan.
Bring the whole clan, with class starting at 5 pm, followed by dinner served at 7 pm. Class capacity is 12 people maximum, with a cost of $85 per person. Attendees can also choose to add wine pairings for an additional $18 by the glass or $56 by the bottle.
On December 19th, take a walk on the sweet side with a Holiday Baking culinary class to ring in the holiday season by preparing a trio of Holiday cookies, including classic gingerbread, pumpkin spice and shortbread (the same mouth-watering recipe used in H2’s s’mores dessert). Participants take home three dozen cookies, including a s’mores kit for a rave-worthy spread. During the session, attendees will be treated to vegetable crudités, cheese and charcuterie. The class cost is $75 per person.
On February 14th, couples are invited to share the perfect Valentine’s Day gift with a romance-infused culinary class. Chefs will help couples craft a delicious meal for two, including oysters, seared foie gras, fig and frisée salad, bacon-wrapped tenderloin, and chocolate divine cake. The class costs $200 per couple, with an option to add perfect pairings from BC vineyards for an additional $50.
For those who prefer a more customized experience, H2 also offers group culinary classes, designed for special occasions and corporate functions. Three custom menu options await, with enticing starters like crab cakes or mango papaya salad; mouth-watering mains like chicken roulade or pasta carbonara; and delicious desserts, like key lime pie. This is an ideal package to celebrate a birthday, bridal party, or for corporate team building or associate recognition. These classes cost $110 per person and have a class capacity of 25 people.
